San Diego hydroponics gardeners have a great alternative for Humboldt County’s Own Gravity Flower Hardener that has recently been banned for sale in the state of California. Alaska Pure is now available for sale at our store in south bay at Gorilla Gardener Supply San Diego.
Alaska Pure from Nutrifield of Australia is an excellent replacement for Gravity and it contains no hormones or plant growth regulators (PGR’s).

Alaska Pure is a total flowering optimizer containing a rich source of potassium, derived from one of the World’s most nutrient-rich Kelp’s. Potassium directly effects the production of Chlorophyll, and the storage and movement of carbohydrates in plants. Carbohydrates are important as they create higher Brix (sugar) levels, which will optimize the weight of your yield. This product is designed for hydroponics use only.
We have just completed our second full flower test run with Alaska Pure as a flower hardener. Happily we announce that we have finally found a natural and safe alternative that works incredibly well! This is a great replacement for the California banned products like Phosphoload, Dr. Nodes, Flower Dragon, and Bloombastic. Alaska Pure is made of all natural Alaskan Kelp, Ascophylium Nodosum Kelp.
Our first trial run we ran half strength dose of 5-7 ML per gallon for the last 5 weeks of bloom. For our second trial run we ran full strength at 11-15 ML per gallon. Both runs produced fantastic results when run with our base nutrient line Cutting Edge Solutions. Very solid, hard flower growth with no negative effects.

One very interesting result as well, my reservoir pH tended to stay more stable when using the Alaska Pure. I have no idea why, but the standard pH jog from the organic Calcium supplement Plant Amp from Cutting Edge was very slight. I had to use much less pH down to maintain the 5.3 – 5.5 range I like to run.

I have begun testing the Rock Resinator Heavy Yields after seeing two other beta test gardeners results. I was actually astounded by the resin production this supplement created. This is a competitor product to something like Snow Storm Ultra or Bloombastic -and from what I have seen- the clear winner. The crystal production in oil bearing crops in jaw dropping!

Also a quick note we suggest that you NEVER use Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) in your reservoir or even as a cleaning product. Hydrogen Peroxide KILLS all these beautiful beneficial organisms you are introducing into your grow medium! Leave the bleach for Kelly Bundy’s platinum hair, not your roots.

As you can see the G-Rex beneficial organisms have created a web of microscopic tentacles that increase the root systems ability to uptake nutrients. Beneficial fungi & Trichoderma also work to break down and recycle organic material to keep the roots healthy white and robust. The beneficial fungus works in a symbiotic relationship with the plant and the medium it is growing in. Various species of Endomycorrhizal Fungi (Mycorrhizae), Trichoderma, & Bacillus species are precisely blended to colonize the largest possible root mass, maximizing the harvest production of your plants.

The organisms create life in otherwise lifeless mediums like Rockwool, Hydroton (expanded clay), old depleted ‘dead’ potting soil or store-bought pasteurized soils. The medium you buy is lifeless, no beneficial bacteria and fungus to break down and use the decaying roots. Using beneficial organisms provides a great tactic to avoid Pythium Disease aka ‘Root Rot.’
It’s up to you the farmer to provide where mother nature is not available, these beneficials are found throughout the Earth’s Rhizosphere. I haven’t had a chance to use the G-Rex as a clone rooting gel, but they claim you can skip using something like Clonex Cloning Gel, Dip n Grow, or Olivia’s Organic Cloning Gel. The next time I am taking clones I will label a special section that will only be soaked in G-Rex and no cloning hormones and see what happens, I’ll post up the results when I get to it! One customer said he tried it with Rapid Rooter plugs and every single one rooted healthy and fuzzy.
T-Rex is only used for rooted clones, vegging plants and regenerating a tired mother plant. Do not use in flower or your plants will never stop stretching! Our recently transplanted new generation of Mother plants have exploded with growth after a few treatments.

Supernatural Nutrients for Hydroponics

Simply put, four of the most powerful, well refined and cost efficient supplements for indoor and outdoor growers alike.
We have all seen labels on products that claim “30% Larger yield boost! Fat flowers and intense aromas! Massive vigor and oil production!” Typically these claims are on the ‘supplement’ side of the nutrient table. When growing you have quite a variety of brands of different nutrients and supplements in which to feed your plants with. Wading through all the b.s. claims can be a whole other mission however.

Keep in mind that every nutrient line makes their ‘base’ nutrients (maybe 2 or 3 parts) and then continue to barrage you with other ‘supplement’ nutrients that really help you complete the tools needed for an incredible harvest. With the basics, you will harvest the basic. With a complete arsenal of all the right base nutrients, supplements, and biological’s, you will harvest the best. Just like a professional bodybuilder, you need the right tools (nutrients and supplements) to be Mr. Universe.
I typically roll my eyes when listening to the claims of what most supplements can do. But this my friends, is the first ‘snake oil’ that REALLY REALLY WORKS. I have tried it in both hydroponics and soil and have harvested cola’s that were 25-30% wider and internode length dramatically shortened.
When using Bushmaster it’s best to apply it the day you switch your plants to 12/12 hour cycle for maximum results. It forces the plant almost instantly into sexual maturity and nearly skips the entire ‘stretch’ phase that is common when switching a plant to flower. This week is typically called “transition” week. With Bushmaster, the plant seems to change it’s energy from stretching to widening cola’s and tightening internode lengths so that your flowers stack up tighter and larger than ever before. This single supplement is only used one time in soil, or run for a week straight at very low dosage of 1/2 ml to 1 ml per gallon of water in your reservoir. When you run it for a week straight, you must cut your base nutrients and other supplements by half the dose at least, until you are sure how your plants handle the Bushmaster. Keep in mind, this product is not to be messed with, you MUST follow the instructions 
Using Gravity continuously in hydroponics also produces stellar results. They call Gravity ‘Viagra for plants’ I call it the ‘bowling-ball for plants.’ After running this stuff from week four all the way until I flushed and harvested, even the main cola’s we’re unable to stand on their own, all arms are drooped over and hanging from the trellis. The weight and density of these flowers is insane! Dried flowers feel like rocks in your hands! I run 1 ML per FIVE GALLONS continuously. You can use more for shorter time, but this method seems to work best. If using Gravity in soil, apply it 3 times total, once a week in week 4, 5, & 6 with 1 ml / gallon of water. I use Snow Storm at the same time with it’s low dose ( 2 ml / gallon) always in the reservoir.
Snow Storm Ultra and Purple Maxx are very similar products. They are both resin builders. They created extreme crystallization and swelling of essential oils. Only difference is the Purple Maxx can create a very dark purple coloring in some of your various flower strains. Some strains become super purple, some just a hint. I prefer to use the Snow Storm Ultra because it frosts and swells my resin glands up and doesn’t alter the color in any way. I have never had such furry, frosty snow stormed flowers in my life. So much essential oil, people’s jaws drop when they see it. Snow Storm is a product that truly lives up to it’s name!
These products are also fully compatible with the new Humboldt County’s Own boosters; Crystal Burst at 1 teaspoon per gallon and Killer Tea at 1 ounce per gallon in bloom. The beneficial life in Botanicare Zho is stabilized and encased in pure Silica Clay to protect the spores. The recommended way to use Zho is to directly inoculate your rooted clones by rolling the plugs or cubes in a 1/4 teaspoon of Zho powder for each plant. Directly dusting the root zone will produce maximum colonization. Simply dump out a 1/4 tsp. onto a clean surface and roll the moist plug/cube all over the powder until fully absorbed. Repeat the process for each rooted plant before transplant.
If your plants are already in their final grow medium, it is best to directly drench the center top-soil stem area with a 1/4 teaspoon of Zho diluted in a small amount of purified water. This method is also great for a follow-up inoculation in 2-4 weeks after the initial treatment. Due to the silica clay casing you would want to treat each individual plant to avoid blockage/debris in your reservoir or drip system tubing.
Zho really focuses on what is important with beneficial life supplements, and cuts out the cost-raising unimportant ingredients that are not needed for growing fast blooming annuals.
